Summer Time News

Updated: Aug 3, 2023

As the summer goes on, Secure Scotland is feeling at home in Words and Actions at Ratcliffe Terrace and finding the practical arrangements of sharing a home with Peace and Justice pretty encouraging. We are also attending the Non Proliferation Treaty Preparatory Conference at the UN in Vienna - a first visit to the UN for Secure Scotland as a new partner in the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). We have been distributing the new briefing Making the NPT Work for Global Security from Acronym Institute, which mentions Secure Scotland as a contact in Scotland.

At home, the space at WandA is great for some some fun events – most recently Margaret Ferguson Burns brought us her celebration of the Peace Camp – Watch Life in the Faslane.

Having an exhibition space is very exciting! Following the first three shows, the Hiroshima exhibition which Secure Scotland is co-hosting with P and J will officially open on 28th July, so don’t miss the opening at 6.30 p.m. The community lunch is between 12 and 2 on the last Sunday of each month – all welcome to that, and we welcome students and others who would like to utilise our tea, coffee and Wi-Fi whenever they are passing. There is more news of our other projects on the new page on this site, and we are still looking for volunteers, associates and administrative help with tasks including updating the Words and Actions site and calendar.
